When you installed the img file to disk, as you say, can you be more detailed? What type of image file is it? How did you burn it to disk?

I had something similar happen to me with the 7100 RC release of the 32bit W7 - I had to re-download it. Both DVDs I burned looked identical, but one worked and one did not.

It was all in a zip folder unzipped to a ISO file and i burned it with IMG burn on a speed of x2 onto a 4.7GB DVD-R disc.

I will probably redownload it if i can find some links

It could well be a problem with the download. I'd try downloading again (7600 16385 is the latest ) and see what happens. And stick to the slower burn speed, although you should be able to up-it to 4x
