Why would you need to repair the old HD drive, if it is booting OK?

If WIn7 won't boot, boot the DVD Repair console or Repair CD to run Startup Repair repeatedly.

If Win7 isn't detected by repair utility, open Command Prompt to type bootrec /fixboot and bootrec /fixmbr, then check again.
Ok I treid this and no dice. It is still not recognized. Only the win 7 install cd.

Make sure no USB drives are plugged in.
Yes I have a install disk. Nothing is plugged in.

To run the Bootrec.exe tool, you must start Windows RE. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Put the Windows Vista or Windows 7 installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.
  2. Press a key when you are prompted.
  3. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.
  4. Click Repair your computer.
  5. Click the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.
  6. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Command Prompt.
  7. Type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER.

I shift+f10 to get command then I typed bootrec /scanos and it was successfull and said that there is 0 os's detected. I did fixboot and fix mbr each twice and then checked to see if it would see my drive. So It cannot read my drive at all.

just realized that every time I thought I was running startup repair on my disk I was actually running repair on my installation cd. duh!!! LMBO

So what do I do now.

Tap the ESC key while booting, enter BIOS setup, look for HD listings to see if/how it is listed, what are the SATA controller settings.

Been outside burning in the sun all day man it's hot in Texas.
I had 4 days left to return another Item to Newegg so I wanted to ship them together saving 6 dollars. So I sent the drive back.

I plugged the drive into the USB hub when I cloned it. They are PCI whatever that means. I really don't know Theog. Yet all the reading I did yesterday kept pointing to this Hybred interface craziness. Well see if the Hitachi works.
