HP 630 Laptop installation

I am a new-joiner for this forum, looking for some help.

I have a HP630 laptop with a HM65 chipset. I am not able to install windows 7 x64 on this. It is asking me to put the driver required for it to detect the HDD.
My setup does not have an option to change the ACHI SATA operation.

Please help me out. I am stuck with a dead laptop. I have tried to put this driver
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...adType=Drivers

but this does not help. Installing it from USB and CD_ROM also did not help.

Looking forward for replies.. Thank you all

Hi theog,

Thank you for replying back on this thread. I tried it, it does not detect the HDD at all but my hard drive shows up in BIOS. Any ideas?

What does the Windows Upgrade Advisor say regarding your HDD. There is most likely a driver problem.

Its a brand new laptop, I got it without the OS installed. I have a i5 2nd gen processor with a 500GB hard drive, am not sure how to check with the upgrade advisor.

The error is typically a bad ISO or bad DVD burn. If you downloaded it, check ISO integrity or download another, burn to DVD using ImgBurn at 4x speed.

You can also write the ISO to flash stick to try install using this tool with Win7 in dropdown menu: Universal USB Installer – Easy as 1 2 3

Will try a different download and update you. I had downloaded iso from MSDN account I have. I will try downloading a version on the internet.

I would use the MSDN account for safest download.

It may be in the burn. Use this tool to burn the DVD and/or write to flash stick: Windows 7 USB-DVD Download Tool
