I would just get an external drive and move everything you want to keep over to the drive. Then disconnect it and do your clean install.

    Hi All

Well I am here on my Win 7 64bit O/S, only one hicup with a 64 bit driver for my realtek rtl9102e. Managed to find and down load on the shop computer so only a little hicup so far.

Just trying to figure how to get my backup data including my favourites back, should keep me entertain for a few more hours.

At least now I will be able to use my new 8gb ram upgrade, I will pop it in tomorrow before I boot up.

    Thanks for the advice

Did you get the 64 bit install disk with your current Home Premium? You can use either bit-version with each license.

If not you'll need to borrow or find one. If forced to download from the web search for official Win7 ISO from My Digital Life.

Having gone 64bit I decided to upgrade to Ultimate, that went smoothly until I checked device manager. Here I found three errors.
    MS ISATAP Adapter error 10
    TEREDO Tunneling Pseudo-Interface error 10
I found out they are related but not much about how to cure the problem.

    The other one was.
    PCI Modem error 28

The PCI Modem one must be an onboard one still got search that one a bit.

Is your wireless connection working well? If not, download and install the latest driver from the Support Downloads webpage for your device model which should carry with it these associated drivers if needed. If not and there's no problem, disable or ignore them.

Same with the PCI Modem if you need it, otherwise just disable it.

I am wired to router, if any thing I think I am running a bit faster due to upgrade giving a quicker refresh speed. The screen seems a lot sharper now in 64bit, it may be me living in hopes

Will give your advice a spin anyway

    Thanks

As for your backups, the data goes back in the same places you copied it from in the first place, since you had Windows 7 already.

Are those Network Adapter drivers showing an ! mark meaning they're missing?

If so it's likely because you don't have wireless installed.

    Just disable them.

Everything went well with the data backup apart from outlook, all my contacts and appointments failed to reappear.
