Maybe in BCD you set the wrong drive letter for the VHD file.

How is Windows 7 going to mount the file if Windows 7 isn't on the computer you're trying to boot with the USB device?

The problem WAS that bootmgr file was really absent... i've deleted it accidentally

But I'm retrying another time this expriment and I'll keep you updated on developing of this 'hack'.

Make sure you look at the tutorial I linked to because the information in the BCD doesn't match yours. It could be a problem.

For example the device partition and osdevice letter for the vhd file.

The tutorial is not working right now.

But with some mods, I'm able to boot from usb and execute windows 7 on vhd into usb pen.

First, after installed win 7 on the vhd it's mandatory to execute PWBoot inside it when running

Then rebooting into a win 7 from c:, it's mandatory to use bcdboot to copy bcd entry FROM vhd itself to the usb pen (in my pc it's located into I:)

This entry is A LOT different from what's created from tutorial like that you linked before. All of this tutorial has not a screeenshot to ensure us that system it's working.

But I have one, from my pc, from yesterday: http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/212...funzionant.jpg

I realize the tutorial is for something a little different. But I thought it still had some valid examples of the BCD store data that could help you. Because something was obviously wrong with the way you were doing it previously.

where'what is PWBOOT ?

I haven't been able to install to the VHD on a USB drive, did you do this or did you install on an internal drive and transfer to the USB key ?
