I'm currently running Vista 32 bit with 7 64 bit dual boot and they're configured perfectly!

Well I have the 32bit RC running on the VPC while in the 64bit RC. I previously was running the 32bit Vista Home Premium there until restoring an image onto the drive where the other 32bit RC is presently located.

When does a month go by when I'm not trying something else new?

Aside from the quoted clause, what does this problem have to do with the amount of RAM installed? The problem might be a faulty RAM stick, but the reported problem is not typically indicative of faulty RAM.

The OP seems to think his platform is not 64 bit capable because of his reported issue. The OS installed and booted. It is decidedly 64-bit capable.

I would bet a nickel that the audio driver is causing the set of problems, even the graphics anomoly.

    Validate your drivers.
Hello everyone, regarding drivers, my computer is (specifically) a Acer M1100-B1300A, and the only drivers I could find for it are here:

Acer Europe - Service & Support, Drivers & Utilities, Downloads, Desktop, Acer Aspire M1100/3100/5100

Is there any way of verifying these are 64-bit (I don't see an indication of either), or is there a better way of acquiring these drivers? Thanks again!

I was able to find the 64bit drivers for your computer. They are for vista but they should work fine for vista as well.
Acer Europe - Service & Support, Drivers & Utilities, Downloads
Select the right product and from the drop down menu, select Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit.

Hey, that is awesome, thanks so much! I'll attempt a Vista re-install now. :)

Your expression of gratitude is valid and appropriate. My "Hey" simply refers to the fact that this thread was full of nonsensical advice that did not address the OP's reported problem. I advised the OP to validate his drivers.

You did an excellent job of showing how and where to do so. +1 to you, -1 to the OP.

I may or may not owe someone a nickel.
