    Can I?

Because the RTM for Technet is August 6, I chose to wait to download my RTM copy. I was wondering if anyone could confirm that its still possible to upgrade from rc1 to rtm by editing the cversion file or running setup in compatibility mode. Thanks for the confirmation. Its important because I'm upgrading literally 10 pcs from rc1 to rtm.

    Thanks,
    Chris

You can definitely upgrade from RC to RTM. But it involves replacement of system files and settings, i would recommend you to bear the pain of doing a clean install of RTM on each and every pcs for maximum performance.
I personally think that upgrading to a different build may likely cause to kill your pc in future as there'll be conflicts or new files with old ones.

    What?

Yes all pcs are on rc1 7100. I just need to verify that editing the cversion file still works and that i can do a regular upgrade as if I were upgrading from vista. It worked great for all my pcs doing this from beta to rc1, so I am verifying that this still works. To dinesh: was my first point not clear to you or did it fly over your head? lol. Just wondering.

    Thank you,

First while no one can be absolutely sure because the final rtm config isnt out yet, but the cversion edit should, repeat should work. there are no keys availbile, so no one is positive. I understand that you have 10pc's to upgrade, but as dinesh stated you are going to import all of the problems you have into a different version. Its your call. I doubt it went over dinesh's head.

If you ask 50 ppl you will prob get 25 who say it will be possible and 25 who say it cant.

Well for technet users Ill have my keys and os final August 6, and I assumed the final leaked version on the web was the same. An what kind of problems are we talking here. All the pcs have run without fail on rc1 with no compatibility issues, so why would any new problems arrise that aren't there now?
