    OS x86 on a x64 CPU?

Is it possible to install Windows XP 32bit on a system with a 64bit processor?

(I have a Windows 7 x64 ASUS laptop, I plan on installing Windows XP x86 into an SD card for as-need basis. I could just install XP x64, but was wondering if 32bit was possible.)

    Thank you.

More than possible. The problem will be whether there are suitable XP drivers for the laptop, not that XP is 32 bit.

so....the processor isn't gonna mind that a 32bit OS is on it?

i'm sure there will be plenty of backwards compatible drivers for the laptop...i just have to look diligently for them.

No problem. The current "64 bit" desktop (and notebook) CPUs from Intel and AMD are basically X86 hardware that supports an extended 64 bit instruction set.
