Press any key to boot not showing & Windows starting service error.

I have a Hp pavilion dv4-1225ee laptop. I was installing windows 7 in my laptop last night. I was sleepy so I switched off the laptop during the setup. In the morning when I switched on my laptop there is no display. So I attached an external monitor. When I put the windows 7 dvd, the hp logo comes and then there is a dash ( I dont get the press any key to boot) and then I get "Setup is starting services" error. When I press Ok. The same procedure is repeated. Please help.

Boot from the windows DVD, press F12 repeatedly to get the one time boot menu (unless the dvd drive is already set as the first boot device in the bios), select the dvd and run install again.

Obviously the dvd's fine because you've used it earlier. Best to check in the bios once again, it may have reset. Also try the F12 trick.

In the bios, the boot device is dvd. When I press F12 nothing happens. This is what happens in detail whenever i switch on the laptop. A dash in the top left blinks for 1 min ( If I remove the dvd, the dash goes), then the Starting windows logo comes, then Safe mode, Safe mode with nework and Start Windows Normally. I press Start Normally, I get the Windows starting service. I click ok. And this gets repeated.

Is this a ready made dvd or a home burnt one? Have you run a full install with it anytime earlier? and when you aborted setup the last time, how far had you proceeded? Just trying to rule out a bad dvd. Is there a spare computer on which you can test this dvd?

This is a burnt dvd. I have installed windows 7 before with this dvd 2 days ago. SO it is not a bad dvd. I stop excatly during this step but instead of 0% it was 70% or 60%
