    Can't install Win7

Had no problems with installing 7 on all but one system.

It's P5K pro & C2D E8400 PC, I've tried changing all the other components repeatedly.

The problem is that during a clean install the process stops right after the wallpaper and cursor appears. Cursor moves freely, but nothing happens. While installing from OS (XP) more or less the same thing happens after the first reboot: either the process stops after PC reboots and installation loads, or it reboots again.

I've tried flashing BIOS with diffrent versions, switching HDD and DVD drives, changing memory sticks, diffrent BIOS settings, diffrent distributive versions (x86, x64), unplugged all the USB devices and so on. I would've tried changing CPU if I had an other one.

Has anyone ever encountered the same problem? Any solution will be greatly appreciated.

Guess I'll try installing Vista now to see if there'll be any problems. Other than this, I'm out of variants

    A lil update.

Tried installing in safe mode, the installation freezes after loading disk.sys (or during, although the last line clearly states "Loaded disk.sys").

Also, tried installing from OS, and using logged mode after reboot. The log is attached.

One more thing, I forgot that I also never changed the GPU - it's a reference GF 8800GT. So the common threads are CPU, MB and GPU.

I am almost sure that's the same issue of the
    Black screen after installation

Please refer to that thread, and you will enjoy W 7 right away.

Not quite the same situation, because I can't get installation to start, even in safe mode. And I can't remember installing any Nvidia drivers since last year :)
Still, thanks, I'll try installing 185.

Sorry, turns out I had to wait a little longer in the Safe mode, so now I know i doesn't freeze while loading disk.sys, but instead reaches the same state with just wallpaper and cursor. I've attached a new log, much longer now.

As to your suggestions, although I've understood that problems with tdx.sys are rather common, I've found no fix for my case. Also, I've read that these problems were effectively solved in earlier builds, long before 7600.
Maybe I should try to experiment with versions of tdx and mssbios from other builds?

Ok I've solved it. All I had to do is switch off FDD in BIOS. Thanks to everyone)
