Win 7 OEM Disk & new Hard drive installation
I'm running Win XP 32 bit & trying to install Win 7 OEM 64 bit to a new SATA harddrive(Seagate 500GB). The harddrive has been partitiioned & Win XP Explorer sees it & writes & reads to it. When I put the Win XP 32 bit installation disk in the SATA DVD drive & click the setup.exe file, the Win XP installation starts. When I put the Win 7 OEM 64 bit disk in the SATA DVD drive, Win XP Explorer sees it, but of course will not run the Win 7 setup.exe file(Error "Not a valid Win 32 App". When I go to the MB BIOS & set the 1st Boot Device to the DVD & put either the Win XP or Win 7 OEM disk in the DVD, the computer goes to the DVD, but I get Error message"NTLDR Missing" & it will not boot. I copied the Win 7 OEM disk to a 4GB flash drive & tried to boot from it, but got Error message"Boot failed".
These are authentic MS installation disks.
Any help on solveing this will be appreciated.
