need to install windows 7 on DELL laptop

    Did Dell provide a Win7 installation DVD or is this one of your own?

    Boot the DVD to clean install following these illustrated steps: Clean Install Windows 7

    Use the Custom install Drive Options to delete all partitions, then just click Next to have the installer create and format install partition for you.

    Let us know how this goes.

    You may be safer providing the information I asked for earlier than jumping into a clean install. Of course it's up to you.

    Good idea to provide a screenie of Disk Mgmt first, and list the disks you have.
