How to run F9 recovery after clean install.

I call to asus hotline on Monday. They told me. Repair "recovery partrition" costs from 13 to 24 € + mail.

Fn keys does not work on 64 bit Win. I made my own driver and it works. I can upload it for you tomorrow.

Strange, I would think the pre installed windows would also be 64 bit on account my asus having 4gb mem. Didn't even care to check before hand, just wanted rid of the bloatware..
But just so I know, if I installed 32bit I wouldnt have this problem (or miss memory as it is shared with the graphics anyway?)

OK here is it.

Folders in driver looks like 32 bit but it is only modified 32 bit driver to 64 bit. I do not change folder names because it request change it in all config files in driver. It is not neccesary.

Ou one more thing. First install touchpad driver ! Hotkeys request it. Without it Hotkey service show error and will not start (Sorry for my EN)

I did install them but that didn't change anything. But you set me on the right track cos I didn't find that hotkey service you said...
So I looked this up through google:
ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Forum- Hotkey Utility
there I found a link to the ftp from asus:
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/EeePC/Utility/
And downloaded the hotkey service directly... installed it, first it wouldn't boot through (got stuck after login). booted into safe mode and rebooted straight after that..
Now everything works as it should!!

I also have a notebook from Asus with preinstalled win 7 and i'm thinking to do a clean install of win 7.

if I understand right, with a clean installation I won't be able to use F9 recovery anymore? And if I leave factory partition untached? But if I make a recovery dvds with a software preinstaled on laptop?

If you leave the partitions alone you can always do a recovery... It's a certain partition you need to save and the other two you can delete (windows 7 makes two partitions for its self when it installs if I'm not mistaken). You only get this problem if you delete all the partitions and then do a clean install (Which I did and would do again cos I 'knew' I could pull off a complete install (let alone these hickups) but if you want to be able to use recovery you shouldnt...)
