    Retail or OEM?

I'm about to install Windows 7 7600.16385 on a Sony Vaio FE880EH and Sony Vaio SR490.
I was wondering which one I should install?
    Is there really a difference?

EDIT: Also, if i installed Windows 7 and I wanted to downgrade back to Vista, can I do that with my recovery disk?

The difference is that the retail copy can be installed on 1 computer and if necessary, it can be removed from the first computer and then installed to a second computer.

With an OEM copy, it's tied into that 1 and only 1 computer. So, you don't have the ability to put it on another computer down the road. Obviously this limitation makes the OEM copy cheaper than the retail version.

i also use VAIO for years, i think both of your VAIO can install Windows 7 7600.16385. And changing win 7 to Vista, i had heard that you can downgrade if :
    1. you install with upgrade mode.
    2. you creat restoring point.

    Dear anhtimmy,
Sorry i'm late. My VAIO can load drivers as it was before (Vista Business). But i still have problem of limited activation to only 1 year left.
