Can't install Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit?

I agree this makes ISO or burn less the likely culprit but we should still rule out DVD install and drive.

I know you said you break flash sticks but have you tried a flash stick install? If possible write the ISO to flash stick using Universal USB Installer with Win7 in the dropdown menu, boot under USB, Removable or HD's.

If this fails try wiping the HD to clear the boot sector: SSD - HDD Optimize for Windows Reinstallation

Reset the BIOS to optimal defaults: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

While in BIOS set SATA controller to AHCI to try install. Unplug all other HD's and peripherals.

If it fails let us know at exactly which step and what happens: Clean Install Windows 7. Include exact text of any error message.

Test your HD using maker's HD Diagnostic extended CD scan, then test your RAM - Test with Memtest86+ .

As my 2x 4gb fs are broken along side my 8gb. I have no choice but to install XP or find a blank dvd. I shall clean my hdd and remove my win7 hdd and reset my bios. If all goes well i shall give a shout. Thanks, Greg. I really appreciate your help.

No prob. We'll get it installed.

Why are you removing your Win7 HD? Isn't that where you want to reinstall?

I'd unplug any other HD's besides the Win7 HD, and other peripherals.

You can install a Dual Boot on separate HD's, in fact it's the best way.

But I would take advantage of having separate HD's by unplugging the existing OS HD while installing the other.

Then after install boot the preferred OS HD by setting it first to boot in BIOS setup.

When you want the other OS boot it's HD using the one-time BIOS boot menu key at boot.

    This keeps the HD's independent.

Do you have Dual Boot now? How is it configured? You are wanting to reinstall 64 bit over a 32 bit Win7 on one HD, correct?

Not quite. I want to keep my existing hdd (32 bit ultimate win7) and want to install 64bit home premium on my other. I want my 32 bit kept becaure of important software. And i bought 64 bit because in about 5 months i plan on buying a new computer (gaming) with 8gb ram and want it all setup for when i get it. (i have several game discs to install. And because i plan on upgrading my current to 4gb ram, i want to utilize my whole ram. Sorry for confusion. Im currently copying items i had on my hd from partition for clean hdd. Then its reset bios and try to instal xp 64.

I would def unplug 32 bit Win7 HD before trying install of 64 bit. Keep it unplugged until after install, then boot it using the one-time BIOS Boot Menu key given on first boot screen which on HP is ESC or F9.

You're going to need to work through the steps which have been given so far first, asking back questions if necessary to get them done correctly, then report back results.

Then we will have more steps which always lead to success - if necessary installing in another machine or imaging the OS onto the HD.

If you can't find a DVD and need to install XP first, then be sure to choose the XP partition to install Win7 so it overwrites XP. It will place the XP install in a windows.old folder you can delete later. This is not that bad of an install even though it's not completely clean. I did one recently. But remember you need the disk for repairs, anyway.
