Can't install Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit?

Okay. Sorry I took so long. I fell asleep ._.
I cleaned the HDDD and removed my Windows 7 Ultimate HDD and rebooted my computer. I pressed F10 to enter setup(BIOS) and I went to the EXIT menu and pressed Enter on "Load setup Defaults". I Then proceeded to install Windows XP 64-bit. It installed. But as it was rebooting to finalize the install, the only error I got was "A Hard Disk Read Error Occured...... Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to Reboot"
I am so confused about this and want to smash my New HDD for the sake of my stress ...-Rages- .__.

I just borrowed a friends Windows Magazine. It includes EasyBCD. He said he had the same issues and that I can use it to add Windows xp to boot loader. Hopefully this works. I shall give it a try when I get home.


EDIT: Well it seems that failed. I also did a little research. All I found on my HDD was the folder "WINDOWS" and no others like program files or anything. I thought this might be helpful as usually you only activate and add users on reboot. Sorry if this was important. If this isn't right, might my XP Disc be damaged and should I ISO it and try to boot it off of my 2gb Flashdrive? Thanks (:

I did unplug my other HDD when I installed it. I even removed my TV Tuner card and reset BIOS. I tried booting XP (Without any other HDD) That failed and gave me the error I posted Earlier. I also tried booting with my Win7 and Windows 7 didn't even recognise windows XP was on the other HDD.

As I said, I can't even finalize due to A Hard Disk load error occurred.... press ctrl alt delete to reboot.
I downloaded the Seagate HDD checker to see if my HDD was fine- It's passed all tests.
Sorry if I'm confusing you.

Have you reset the BIOS to optimal defaults yet? if not Enter BIOS setup to do that now.

Before wiping the HD again, run a Disk Check on it from DVD Command Line accessed by pressing Shift + F10 key at first screen, or access System Recovery Options. The commands are in the Disk Check tutorial.

Leave the other HD unplugged. Unplug all other peripherals, too.

Next wipe the HD and try install again: SSD - HDD Optimize for Windows Reinstallation. Dont' partition at all, just select the HD and click Next at drive selection screen.

This time if it fails report back the exact wording of the error message.

So when XP wouldn't start, you burned Win7 to DVD, booted it and tried install which proceeded until it failed at end of install needing Disk check? How did you burn the DVD?

Okay. I don't have any discs yet. Got about 4 more days. But the reason I want to be able to enter Windows XP 64-bit is because I know I can run a 64-bit Iso of a 64-bit OS. As I have had so much trouble with this, I may just wait till I can get a DVD. Here's what I did from start (With max details)

Used Command Prompt to "Clean All" On my 250gb HDD (The one for which the 64-bit OS will be installed)
I shut down my computer. I removed my TV Tuner card and Un-plugged my Windows 7 Ultimate 32-Bit OS HDD. I then proceeded to reboot my Computer and enter BIOS by pressing F10. I went into the "EXIT" Menu and selected the Option "Load BIOS Defaults" (There is no optimal default)
I then proceeded by rebooting my computer and inserting the Windows XP Professional 64-Bit Disc. I went into my BIOS and selected "First Drive - Atapi DVD-RW"
I ran the setup, formatting my whole HDD (Not quick) It then installed and said "Windows will restart your computer to complete the Installation. Press Enter to reboot now." (There was a 15 second timer)
As it was rebooting it asked me whether I would like to boot from CD or not. I left it. I got the following Error "A Hard Disk Error Occurred....Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to Reboot"
I rebooted to try again. No Luck. I then proceeded by re-plugging in my Windows 7 Ultimate 32-Bit OS and went to see if Windows XP Would show in Dual-Boot. It didn't. So I logged on to Windows 7 Ultimate and went and checked my Other HD. The only thing on it was "WINDOWS" No Program files or anything. Everything was still inside of Windows, but that was it. I also tried to boot from CD but it tried to re-install it.

EDIT: I didn't Partition it either.

Because he doesn't buy them. He's like me, buys software online and uses PowerISO to install them.
I'm just going to give up and mark this thread as closed. Thanks alot Greg. I shall have to wait till I have a DVD. I Shall message you on how well the Disk Check goes (:
