Fresh install. was going well. but now i see this

Hello. i upgraded my HDD to a WD caviar black 2TB drive today. I put in the fresh drive with no other HDD installed in the system. I installed windows 7 with no troubles and began to install all the windows updates. after service pack 1 the computer restarted and now everytime it boots it will go to this screen after the windows logo

idk why it is doing this.

if anyone is on tonight that knows what i should do please let me know asap. i really need thsi computer up and running.

There's some reason it's booting to BIOS screen. Check all cable connections to HD, swap them.

Can you reset BIOS to optimal default? If the choice isn't available and you can't browse to the other BIOS setup screens, try one of these other methods like pulling the CMOS battery: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

If this fails, try triggering the one-time BIOS Boot Menu key to boot Win7 DVD, enter System Recovery Options to see if it discovers an installation to repair and offers a repair. If not, click through to tools list to run Startup Repair.

Try removing some RAM sticks, then swap them to see if it will start with any combination.

If this fails, can you boot the old HD?

Report back what happens.

ok i just reset the bios and it booted up. it takes alot longer than it normaly did. but i am on the desktop again. The thing is. sometimes it will load fine but take forever like it just did. and most of the time it will go to that screen i linked in OP. my ram is fine. it shows 6gb wich is what i had before. i'm not sure what would cause this to happen. because sometiems it loads to the desktop. and other times it goes to that screen. i will keep you updated as i start having to restart computer after installing drivers and such.

ok. i have had to hit restart 4 times so far... still going through that screen. so if i can get back onto the desktop i should system restore and install the updates 1 by 1? not exactly sure what you want me to do.

when i tryed a system restore point after where it listed a Critical update i got an error.

System Restore did not complete successfully. your computers system fiels and settings where not changed.

i think i may have fixed it. because of all the restarting windows wanted to do the bootup scan thing thats recemended after a hard shut down. i let it do that. after i went to the bios and changed the First boot priority to the CD rom and Second to the HDD. i have restarted 3 times now and it loads in just find and as quick as last HDD i had in there.

I believe you're referring to Startup Repair which is run if you don't choose Start Windows Normally. That likely System Restored which is one of the first fixes it will run when Updates have been installed causing unbootable Win7.

Now check Windows Updates to see what are still cued, install them in smaller groups to see if one fails, then singly to isolate the problem update.
