Redux: Best Tools/Methods for Moving Image from HDD to SSD?

I have a new Thinkpad x120e as my 'carry piece' and put a clean install of W7 Home Premium on the original hdd. Got it all nicely tuned but now I want to try out my SSD in the rig. So I need to make an image of the current drive, then restore that image, bootable, to the SSD.

Thinkpad x120e has no optical drive. It can boot however from USB or from the SD Card slot. I used a SD to install Home Premium x64.

What is the best current package for creating the backup archive and restoring it to the SSD? And the best methods?

I imagine this topic has been discussed a lot so if there is a "definitive thread" extant pls flag to me and I'll go over there.

thanks all!

Take the Paragon Migration tool that is mentioned in my tutorial that theog linked. Yes it costs $19.95 but it will do the job with 2 clicks. If you do it "manually", you have opportunity to make a lot of mistakes.

OpenOffice Image/Picture tools?
Are there any good OpenOffice extensions that add more picture functionality? I've found a crop and rotate extension. Are there any others? Something that possibly has both these extensions 2 in 1 or a 'set transparent colour' extension. I hate opening up pictures in Draw so don't recommend that...
