    How to change initial computer name/ID


    Need help how to change the name or ID [I don't know how to name it correctly??] what shows in ....Computer> (C:) Drive>Users>JosefStalin ...[this name I need to change pernamently.] The icon has "lock" on it and I try to change in "User Accounts and Family Safety" as administrator it still stay there. This is on my new Acer AOD257 netbook [Win7 Starter] Any hint will be appreceated

    Create a new account with administrative rights, login with new account and then delete the one you want by going into Control Panel>User Accounts.

    Awesome It helped. Time to time it happend have little "brain fart"....just don't figure out such simple thing. Thanks a lot. Have great day

    You can also do it without creating a new account.

    Seavixen32 Unfortunately this didn't work for me.....it still retain old/initial name what I've input while first starting the Acer notbook. Thanks for response anyway.
