    wintoflash Always using fat32

I am putting windows 7 into my flash drive. I format the drive into ntfs and everytime i use wintoflash it formats it back to fat32. I cant boot from this.

Fact is i have done the correct installing and my boot just goes straight into windows. I have it set to usb-hdd.

Getting very annoyed with it not working when its all been done by the book.

    Hello dmxdex2020

When I need to install windows from a flash drive I use DiskPart to get the flash drive ready to receive the files from the boot CD/DVD as follows:

    Run Command Prompt as administrator:

    diskpart
    list disk
select disk # (The #=number next to the flash drive, be carefull that you select correct number.(Example=select disk 4))
    clean
    create partition primary
    format fs=ntfs
    active
    assign
    exit
    exit

Then just copy the files from your boot windows 7 install cd/dvd to flash drive and then boot from flash drive.
This works for me. Hope this helps.
    TJG :)

I tried this that is why i used the wintoflash. It worked the other day but i messed up my windows and had to redo my flash drive. Now it doesnt work.

I did try a windows repair not sure if that messed it up.

If you had problems with Windows, why would you have needed to "redo" the flash drive?

I can confirm that TJG's method works and is an ideal solution. Are you sure you didn't just make a mistake doing each of the steps?
