Does your mobo have IDE port(s)? If so just connect the HD using an IDE ribbon cable, make sure SATA HD remains set first to boot in BIOS setup.

SATA controller may need to be adjusted if IDE HD is not seen in BIOS setup or doesn't show up in Win7. Let us know.

IDE HD drives, are listed first boot in BIOS by default, make sure your Sata HD drive is reset to first boot.
The IDE hd Drive will show in Windows as Disk0.

Remember to not touch any electronics before touching or holding the case to discharge static electricity. Don't work on carpet. One spark can ruin the mobo.

Ease the cable in gently. Do everything in slow motion to assure you don't damage anything.

You may be well experienced with this but then again you may have never done it, so we warn.
