If the HD is not detected in BIOS or by any HD repair scan or Disk Check then you cannot repair the HD.

Data is only retrievable if it can be seen using the the method I gave you or Paragon Rescue CD.

The drive is detected by bios and the samsung hd diagnostic it just has bad sectors but I am unable to repair. Ive seen on some of the tools where u can erase all sectors to 0s or something. Should I give that a try?

WIping the HD will do nothing for bad sectors. Formatting may quarantine them so you can use the HD without them. It's best to see if you can repair them using the maker's own diagnostics/repair extended CD scan followed by Disk Check

What does it mean when it says the C: drive is RAW? Diskchk doesn't allow me to run anything because of that.

It usually means the data is lost and its not usable.

You can boot into free Partition Wizard bootable CD to see if the Partition Recovery Wizard will find anything.

I'm having the same issue with a Samsung 900X3A, can't install from DVD, or USB drive. I also have the recovery DVD from Samsung and having the same issue as a clean install. Unable to install on hard disk, please see system log. ??? WTF???

Wipe the HD before trying install: SSD - HDD Optimize for Windows Reinstallation. Test the HD using maker's HD Diagnostic extended CD scan. Look at the HD for the make if you don't know it, or use Seagate SeaTools.

Next reset the BIOS to defaults: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

While in BIOS setup set SATA controller to AHCI to try install, then IDE if necessary.

Is there a newer BIOS version on the Samsung Support Downloads webpage?

Try removing all but 2gb RAM to try install. Swap RAM sticks. Test your RAM: RAM - Test with Memtest86+

I have had some really anoying troubles with the same kind of errors. The point here i think is that windows simply in some cases just dont install from a disk/partition becouse it THINKS that the bios won't boot of it... Its the shame shit with or without drivers. Windows dont care it only hate us. Well i have found a real solution for a almost all situasions or motherboard combinations. If its SATA, IDE, SCSI, ATA, PATA, UATA and so on the solution is rediculess! The bios setting of AHCI or IDE or Compatibility or non-combined or combined or disabled mode DOESNT EVEN MATTER!

WINDOWS CANNOT INSTALL ON THE DISK OR PARTITION BECAUSE THE BIOS MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO BOOT FROM THE DISK

    OR

DRIVE NOT SEEN WITHOUT DRIVERS.... NOT EVEN WHEN U GIVE THE DRIVERS... OR THE ERROR MESSAGE ABOVE AFTER THE DRIVERS ARE INSERTED.

    SOLUTION:
    Windows 7 Alleditions x86:
Boot from a Windows 7 PE x86 cd/dvd/usb and insert windows 7 install media run setup! DONE.

    Windows 7 Alleditions x64:
Boot from a Windows 7 PE x64 cd/dvd/usb and insert windows 7 install media run setup! DONE.

if your drive appears as normal in Live cd --> All of the sudden windows installs flawlessly! Even dualboot install the same way without a hitch! Even without drivers after the reboot it finds the install media and continues the installation! Try it out and spread the word. Toast out.
