Error code: 0x80070570 when attempting to install

I am trying to install Windows 7 32-bit RC on a desktop PC. I have previously used this disk successfully to install the OS on a laptop.

I keep getting an error message to the effect that

Windows cannot install required files.
...
Error code: 0x80070570

Initially I thought that this was due to a flaky DVD drive but I have now installed a different drive and am still getting the same message. I also tried a SATA DVD drive but it seems that the Windows 7 installation process didn't like (have drivers for) this interface

I have previosuly managed to load Windows 7 64-bit RC on this PC but had some problems with stability so thought I would give the 32-bit version a go.

I notice that some people have got around this problem by burning the DVD at slow speeds and by using a USB drive to boot from; since I have successfully installed using this DVD, the former doesn't seem relevant and I don't have an 8GB USB drive available. I will try running MemTest86+ on the system on the off-chance.

Any explanations / other suggestions . . . please . . . ?

ps - I have just downloaded a new copy of Windows 7 32-bit RC, burned it at 1x and have got the same unhelpful error message

Burn the iso again with imgburn @4x speed and try again!!

Thanks Anthony; downloaded another .ISO and burned it with imgburn - sadly, it didn't help.

I also burned a copy with Active ISO Burner and that didn't work either

I am now coming to the conclusion that I may have a faulty stick of PC-3200 RAM (1 of 4 x 1GB); running MemTest86+ overnight.

edited:

Removed two sticks of RAM leaving 2 x 1GB
install successful
Windows 7 32bit now working well
replacement stick of RAM ordered

I purchased one OEM for system builders Windows 7 64 bit. I was getting the error 0x80070570. I tried to reset the Memory overclockin to auto from 800MHz. With that I was able to proceed. Also I used only 100MB and rest single partition on 750GB Hard disk. That seemed to work for me. But I would like to ie-install with smaller partition size

I am also getting this error message and can't find a solution.

I am attempting to do a custom upgrade of windows 7 professional from XP home edition.

I have made sure that XP is fully up to date and this improved the issue a small bit, in so far as I got the error message at 27% instead of 2%.

I have checked the drive and I don't see any windows 7 100mb partition that some of the threads have mentioned. I have had a RAM error in the past, but changed it this morning so I'm not sure if that is the issue.

Does anyone have any other ideas?

reburn your DVD at a slow speed.

Than do a clean install.

Hi

I'm using a Microsoft disc (sorry i should have mentioned that earlier)

I have ran memtest and it found no errors and i have also tried clearing the CMOS and i'm still having no luck

Oh sorry, i haven't done that bit of my profile yet.

I am running an AMD athlon 3200+ processor with abit Venice AGP motherboard and 2 GB ram. I also have a GeForce 6800 LE graphics card

Just wanted to confirm that this error coincided with bad ram in my scenario, including causing the errors that caused me to want to reformat. After removing the most recently installed ram sticks all problems were solved.

Symptoms:
Error code: 0x80070570 On reformat using x60 burned discs, x4 burned discs, retail discs.
Constant crash when running programs especially when installing/updating

Cause:
Recently installed ram
