Easy BCD cannot automatically detect Windows XP.

    Hi,

Firstly I am sorry for posting the same old problem. I have read other forum posts on this subject and have tried some of the posted solutions. however whatever I try I cannot get to work.

I did have it dual booting once, but I have restored my system since then, and now cannot get it to dual boot into XP.

At start up it will dual boot into windows 7.

Can someone take me by the hand and lead me through this. I can talk on Skype if this is any help.

    Skype Name: trecaabade.

    Many thanks

Try Visual BCD Editor - Windows 7/Vista.

Select "Create missing Windows loaders" (right click in treeView) - this will add a boot-menu entry for every installed Windows system which is not already registered in BCD (Boot Configuration Data) store.

    Thank You

I was able to fix the problem by doing a clean install of windows xp then windows 7. Didn't have to change a thing it gave me both options to choose when booting.

Many thanks to everyone who responded to my post.
