Do i need to update .NET and Visual C++?

    Do i need to update .NET and Visual C++?


    Do i really need to download those updates form Windows Update? AFAIK, my computer is currently not have any issues relating to those programs. I don't want to download useless updates if i'm it's not really going to benefit me.


    EDIT: sorry i just notice i posted in the wrong section.

    Most updates to the .net files are for security reasons. I suggest updating them when ms update recommends it.

    but isn't .NET only for ppl who make softwares?

    .NET is needed by all installed programs (software products) which were created using the .NET environment.
    There are 100's of programs using .NET (v2.0, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0) environment.

    And there are not less programs using the Visual C++ runtime.

    They are needed for security purposes.
