    Upgrading

I upgraded my Windows 7 from Vista and I upgraded Vista from XP and I upgraded XP from Windows 2000 and I upgraded Windows 2000 from Windows 98 and I upgraded Windows 98 from Windows 95 and I bought Windows 95 Full Version. So instead of loading a half dozen OS’s maybe I should get the full Version instead of another upgrade?

You haven't had to load the qualifying OS to use Upgrade version since Vista.

The installer will see an OS when booted and allow use of Upgrade version key. If HD is new or cleaned, leave the key blank then use the quick registry workaround given here to activate after install: Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version

FWIW: One problem with upgrading instead of a clean install, is that upgrading brings along a lot of baggage.

If you have the programs and authorization codes from your other software, I recommend a clean install after creating an image to get back to what you had. Save all of your data external and go for it.

    Just my Opinion.
