A formatting of the hard drive will remove windows 7, but .....
Do you have a dual boot setup ? What is the other os there ?
If you can post a snipshot of the maximized disk management window, it will be easy to suggest the further; if anything is needed to remove the bootloader or not.
i don't want to format the disk because i have files that i need there. in my c drive i have an installation of windows 7 from which i am booting right now but i also have an installation on my d drive. i want to uninstall the d drive installation if it's possible
There is no such way to uninstall an operating system other than formatting the drive/partition that contains the OS . So if the D drive contains any files, copy those in somewhere else, and then format it.
The two OSs are windows 7? Are they both the same build/ version/ bit ? Is it a dual boot setup ? How do you choose which one to boot up ?
All the info are needed to remove the bootloader after removing the installation.
