Clean install of Windows 7 32bit. Multiple problems occuring.

    Alright, so download the SeaTools DOS and burn to a CD and boot it from there?

    OKay. I've started the long test. It's doing that clicking here as well. Also, just for curiosity, what's the acoustic test?

    Also...if it does turn out to be a hard drive failure....why would it occur right when I attempt to do a clean install? All this time it's worked perfect, no flaw. And I figure if I had never began this, it would still be in working order with no clicking..

    Okay..the long test failed..saying something about bad sectors..as did the short test..

    I would replace the HD Drive, than do the clean install.

    replace it with what? I don't have another HD...and look at my other posts...I don't see how this could of randomly happened...perhaps there is some fix besides replacing the HD?

    You can try to get the Seagate tool to repair with the long test, but you will most likely be trying to reinstall every week.

    Perhaps I can disable these updates and get vista installed..
