I have a hard drive of 500gb and i want to recover my computer to original factory settings and split my hard into c and d so what size should drive c be ?

also u should know that i use games.

Depends on what OS you are going to install. For Windows 7, I would say that 100 gigs would be more than sufficient for C. That would leave about 400 gigs for the D.

With a good Partition Manager Boot Disk these partitions can be resized later without loss of any Data.

im gonna install windows 7 home premium 64 bit service pack 1 ?

If you plan to install a few games at a time, make it a 200 GB partition for C. Once you get the OS installed, you'll be able to go into Disk Management and move your optical drive to E, and create a D drive out of the remaining free space.

I dont realy get the part about (move your optical drive to E) ? what is that,how do i do it and what is the use for it ?

The CD/DVD (Optical) Drive would be D if the HDD has not been partitioned and has only one partition. So when you create another partition on the HDD it would become E. You should either before partitioning the HDD or after partitioning it rename the Optical Drive as E so that the second partition on the HDD could be named as D.

& made the Startup Repair CD.
