Upgrading from XP to 7 using USB problems.

I am trying to upgrade to Windows 7 because there are various programs that I would like to use but I am unable to because I am running on a 32 bit operating system, and quite frankly, the OS is outdated and it is time for an upgrade anyway.

But I can't afford to buy the operating system at the moment so I downloaded an ISO file and I am trying to create a bootable USB, but the Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool won't work, it copies all of the files to the drive but it can't make it bootable because bootsect.exe is not a valid Windows XP application.

If you don't understand have a look at this http://answers.micro...9c-fa0a3339b92e - this person is having the same problem as me as well as most of the people in the replies.

So the question I'm asking is does anyone know of another way to make the USB drive bootable? I tried a program called WinSetupFromUSB but it stops me before the installation process starts and prompts me to browse for drivers, and I haven't been able to solve this problem yet, if anyone knows what is wrong here and how I can fix it I'd appreciate it, or is my only option to create the bootable USB on someone else's system?

    Thanks for any help.

That link will not load for me.

You downloaded a Windows 7 ISO? Do you have a valid Windows 7 Product Key?? If not, how do you propose to activate any installation?

In that case, I doubt if you will get much support on this forum.
