Installation problems, need advice and Help Installing!

Hi, I have downloaded a working windows 7 ultimate 64 bit os, burned it to disc. I am using a HP Pavillion: Hex Core (2.6ghz) 6gb RAM, Nvidia 1.5gb graphics... So my computer is more than capable to run. I can fully install the operating system, but...

The resolution is TERRIBLE. Even in the installation, and afterwards! The image is stretched, poor quality.

I cannot connect to the internet... If I put an ethernet cable in, it is not recognised AT ALL.

What should I do? I have followed the procedure correctly, but nothing seems to work, when I;ve installed. Help please guys... do i need to do something or am i dong something wrong?

    thanks...

You have to install all your drivers, starting with your network adaptor so you can get out to the net. Do you have a recovery partition ? You should put your pc back the way it was. Unless of course you wiped it. To me it sounds like you didn`t do any research before you started this project.

Use the links provided by seavixen to download your network adaptor drivers and install them on your Pavillion. Use a flash drive or a cd. Then you can use windows update to finish the job.

As AddRAM states, you are missing several drivers.

Have a look at this HP Support site: Recover Windows 7 Operating System Using HP Recovery HP Pavilion Notebook PCs - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

After you've installed Windows 7 you need to check in device manager to see what drivers are missing.

HP and/or Windows Updates should have all the drivers you need.

As suggested above, you're missing the video (VGA) driver which explains the poor resolution, and the network (Ethernet) driver which explains the inability to use the ethernet port.

Head to the link below, key in your model no., select Windows 7, and you will find the drivers you need:

Hi, I did actually do my research, and this was one of the things I suspected I just wanted to verify. Thanks for the help though I'll try it out.

    James -

Follow these steps to get a perfect clean reinstall of factory OEM Win7: Reinstalling Windows 7

Any drivers not in the installer or quickly updated via optional Windows Updates can be found on the HP Support Downloads webpage for your model. Don't change out any others unless performance points to them.
