Need some help with installing Windows XP - 0x0000007B Error

Ok so I decided to wipe my hard drive and start fresh. I had windows 7 ultimate installed on it. I formatted in DOS, everything went smoothly. When I try to install XP I keep getting a blue screen with;

"STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78DA524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)"

I googled it, but keep getting the run around with most of the websites I find.

Would really appreciate it if someone could help me out.

Thanks

It's a shot in the dark, but I'd say your hard drive probably wasn't wiped clean.

Advanced troubleshooting for "Stop 0x0000007B" errors in Windows XP

If you have a Windows DVD or a Windows repair disc trying booting into it and use Diskpart to clean the drive.

Disk - Clean and Clean All with Diskpart Command

In your case, the Clean All command would probably be best, it takes around an hour per 320GB.

XP doesn't have most modern SATA controller drivers even in the SP3 CD, so they need to be added during install or if you don't have ancient floppy drive/disks, must be slipstreamed into the installer. SATA Drivers - Slipstream into Windows XP CD

FOr this reason more users are vitualizing XP using XP Mode, VIrtual Player, Virtual Box or VMWare freeware.

First check for all the Win XP drivers for your hardware on the manufacturer's web site.
If your Win XP CD, does not support your Sata Controller, you will need to load drivers to uses at F6.
Load Sata Controller drivers with a floppy disk is the best way.
SATA Drivers - Load in Windows XP Setup on Dual Boot
OR
SATA Drivers - Slipstream into Windows XP CD
