Trying to make USB boot drive, having issues

    Thats very unlikely, but not impossible.The easiest route is to try a cheap 4GB USB thumb drive.

    Well, I am not trying to be harsh but from a purist's point of view, when you patch the official ISO , it is no longer a genuine official ISO.:)

    Why not try with the unpatched , unmodified official ISO, instead of blamng the BIOS?

    It's not RTM, but technically speaking it's still "official."

    Well, primarily because even formatting the drive and only installing the linux ISO still caused the BIOS to hang, and the BIOS hangs even if I don't go into the boot menu - the drive only has to be plugged in.
