Windows will not load onto a fresh hard drive after formatting.

    Windows will not load onto a fresh hard drive after formatting.


    Have complete new hardware from box to board and cpu abd ram. Using a 2 year old 500 gb western digital drive. Upon trying to load 32bit win 7 instilation it ask to format disc which was done. Now windows is saying it is unable to load on that drive.
    Have checked drive for errors of which there are none. Any ideas.? people.

    asus P8Z68-M PRO with 16 gb 2 x dual 8 gb sticks Geilm, to use all ram you need to install 64 bit OS.

    As the new MOBO's has a uEFI BIOS.
    How to install Windows 64 bit on a uEFI BIOS:

    Thanks theog. Have got it to boot and load but now need to see if the accounts package will run on it . I want to run 64 but all POS accounts systems only use 32 bit. pretty hard when your in a new business. but hey thanks for the info.

    32 Bit programs will install in 64 bit Win7 and run fine. You'll find them in the Program Files -32 bit folder.
