    rename hdd issues


    Son changed C: drive to Z: Not cannot get computer to boot to proper drive, nor can I figure how how to rename drive back to C: How can this be done? Cannot access any of my files, etc., and (of course) Windows 7 installation disk does not work. HELP!!

    It is likely not reparable as changing the OS partition drive letter almost always ruins the OS beyond Repair.

    However there is a tool Paragon Rescue CD which you can boot and try to restore the C letter to the partition. It is normally used in another case where the drive letter is changed due to problems during imaging, but it does work: Paragon rescue disk; change drive letter; recover data

    You should also be able to copy out your data to external with the same CD.

    Thank you. Your link sent me directly to the web site and I have downloaded the program to a CD. Will test it later. ON old computer doing work and will switch to the new (messed up) one in a few days. Need to catch cup.

    Remember the ISO needs to be burned to CD using Windows Image Burner or ImgBurn.

    Boot the Paragon cd - select Normal Mode , then Boot Corrector.

    Correct drive letters in the system registry.
