We really need to clear things up. It sounds to me like the OP is running windows xp and has all the windows 7 files in a folder on his desktop. He is not trying to upgrade, he is trying to clean install it. I suggest that there is a problem with the windows 7 files and he should get himself a copy of the iso and then try a clean install. To the OP...you have backed all your data up haven't you?
Yes, no one is seeming to understand what I'm explaining. Yes, I am running Windows XP, HOWEVER, I am NOT trying to "upgrade". There is a choice during the installation to upgrade or do a custom installation where you format the partition right then and there. During this process it will save everything on your current partition to a file in Windows 7 called "Windows Old" and format the current partition which is technically a "clean install". Which brings me to answer your next question. Yes, all of my data is backed up.

Well, what I am doing now is transfering all of the Win 7 files and the setup.exe to my old HDD and then I will format my new HDD so it would be a "clean install" on a new partition. As one of the guys mentioned I should do earlier, and see if it works.

you can try that but seeing as though it has failed a few times, i really think there is a problem with the copy u have but yeah, it's worth a try

Still no luck. Tried installing from a clean partition. Had both of my HDD's in my PC when I did it. I lost video at 33% of expanding files.

    -Sigh-

It seems to be some kind of video problem, but I can't figure out what.

The last thing I can do, is try to take the ISO and make a bootable CD, after formatting the HDD again and making a new partition, which I don't really think it would help with the video cutting out, but it's worth a shot right?

    Lol.

You really need to get a bootable DVD (get the ISO from the Microsoft Website). So long as you're trying to install from an executable from within windows, it's not going to work.

As for the video output, it might be worth trying turning off SpeedStep, or your motherboard's equivalent. I had a very similar problem solved by turning that off during installation.
