Windows 7: Got A Virus, Did A Windows Reinstall, Now Have An Error Message

I'm at my wits end here. I don't think there is any hope for my computer.

I cant' get the DVD to load/boot no matter what I do, what setting is changed. I get the same screen. I reset BIOS to defaults and tried again. Nothing but the same screen.

I went to the Advance boot options screen and I don't even have a repair your computer option available. Any other suggestion I haven't been able to do because they all require me to boot to the dvd which I cannot seem to do.

I'm pretty frustrated. Any last suggestions? I don't know what else to do at this point.

How about trying the Recovery DIsks and Recovery partition again? Acer Support: Restoring a system to factory load

Test booting the DVD in another computer which will confirm if it is burned correctly from an intact ISO.

Boot free Partition Wizard CD which will autostart on its own.

Wipe the HD from Disk tab, quick method.

This should cause the Recovery Disk or WIn7 DVD to autostart if DVD is burned correctly.

I googled the issue and this is what someone said they did:

"1) The first time around I narrowed it down to some issue with the BIOS/motherboard. The trick was to configure BIOS to use only failsafe defaults and that worked like a charm. I disabled all the options and only configured the options which were absolutely necessary and later switched them back on one by one."

However, I don't really understand this or know what this means. How do I configure BIOS to use failsafe defaults? What does this mean? Anyone know?

I also found this too as an option but I dont' have a clue what Xencenter is or how to open or close it. Anyone know what they are talking about?

"My method for working around this issue is to close Xencenter once the install process is kicked off, and not open Xencenter until after the install is completed. I believe it has something to do with the hardware detection of the display, and when the Xencenter console is connected to the VM, that seems to be when it fails. Messy, but at least it works consistently."

"This should cause the Windows 7 DVD to autostart if it is burned correctly. Test it first on another machine to make sure it is bootable."

Could I use my Acer CDs instead so I won't have issues with the product key later?

Yes, I would try them first until you hear from Acer why you have no Product Key on COA sticker.

Try also booting the Recovery partition from it's hotkey. Are you tapping these keys vigorously every second starting when you power up?

Looking at what I could see on the forum that tried to help you ... you apparently have what is called the ZeroAccess Rootkit . It is an extremely nasty piece of malware

A full re-installation of your Operating System is the only way to ensure that your computer will ever be 100% clean again.

I have a question. If I buy a completely new hard drive will that take care of the problem?

Why would you want to buy a new harddrive. Is yours defunct?

Here you can download an installation .iso, burn it to DVD and install with that. Then you activate it with the key on your COA sticker. Official Windows 7 SP1 ISO from Digital River My Digital Life
