Windows 7 reinstall stalling at "Setup is starting" and other problems

Hey everyone,

Yesterday my install of Windows started having issues. The system would periodically BSOD after the Windows startup logo appeared. I've tried every type of safe mode, last known good config, and startup repair, but to no avail. I had a Windows 7 install disk from my desktop (OEM) from when I built it and decided to try starting it from that. However, while I can get to the install page which has the install button as well as the repair option, when I click on either one, nothing happens.

When I click on the Repair button, it goes to a blank blue wallpaper (the standard win7 wallpaper) and sits there, doing nothing for about 5 minutes, before I just shut it off. Then I tried the standard install option, but it hangs on the "Setup is starting..." dialog and just sits with the loading cursor.

Other info:
I cannot get into the desktop, so anything that requires that will be no good.
I have tried Seatools to see if it's an HDD issue, but it would not open properly, even though I burned the .iso correctly.
Both installs are x64, so the disk should work.

Thanks for any ideas.

You can try these steps for when Windows 7 fails to boot

Or you can skip to Clean Reinstall Windows 7 Factory OEM - same steps with your BUilder's OEM key.

If it continues to stall at boot, try another ISO from the tutorial just above, burned with tool given to DVD, or written to flash stick if that fails. This will tell us if it is the installer.

If not try resetting the BIOS to defaults: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

You may also need to wipe the HD with Diskpart Clean Command accessing DISKPART At PC Startup
