    USB printer not recognize

    Hello

I want to install a HP printer HP laserjet 1020 on a PC with Windows 7 32

When I plug it, I receive a message like USB device not recognize. I did try the USB port with a USB memory stick, and the USB port is functioning.

This printer had worked few time with the PC. Now, never connect.

I uninstall the printer driver then re-install, same problem

I did try the printer in another system and it work

Is it possible the the USB port is no sourcing enough current for the printer?

Is there other test that I could do?

You can get up-to-date printer drivers here.

Software & Driver Downloads HP LaserJet 1020 Printer - HP technical support (United Kingdom - English)

    1. Power down and disconnct your printer from the power source and the USB connection.
    2. Remove the printer from your Devices and Printers folder.
    3. Uninstall any printer driver you have installed.
    4. Download and save the driver for your printer.
    5. Install the new printer driver - right-click the installer first and choose Run as Administrator.
    6. Do not power up the printer or connect the USB lead until prompted to do so.
    7. Make sure you connect to a rear USB port.
    8. Try another port if the first one does not see your printer.

    Resolve for the moment

Did play with the BIOS in the USB port section

I selected to allow the PC to drive OLD usb technologie

    I un-install and re-install the driver

    Hope it will be stable
