    You may upgrade your Windows Vista to Windows 7. Just pop the Windows 7 DVD in and run setup. It will check your computer to make sure that it will run on your hardware AND for compatibility issues between installed programs and Windows 7

    Upgrade Install with Windows 7

    BTW What edition of Windows Vista are your running? Ex. Home Premium, Business, Ultimate?

    Just make sure you get one of the upgrade packages such as this one from Amazon UK-
    [ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Windows-Home-Premium-PC/dp/B002DUCMT2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1251148609&sr=8-1"]Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (PC): Amazon.co.uk: Software[/ame]

    Also remember if you have a 32bit OS at the moment and want to go 64bit (which I strongly advise) you need to do a clean wipe and install; if thats the case you can use Easy Transfer to take your documents with you but not your applications.

    Windows 10, Home Clean Install

    There have been many, many posts, and I agree, that the upgrade you want is not the best way to go. Both from the standpoint of a quality OS and time taken to upgrade, it is better to do a clean install.

    If you use Windows Easy Transfer, and back up all your files, you will be much happier with a clean install.

    I agree, less problems with a clean install and it also ends up being faster. Best to back everything up and use a clean install. Best thing about Win7 is the ten minute installation time.
