At what point is everybody actually starting and stopping the timing of the installation?
Tossing the CD in and booting the computer, until I see the desktop, install updates and reboot again.

I made a mistake and changed the value of cversion.ini [HostBuild] MinClient=7233.0 MinServer=7100.0 I changed minClient to 7000 thinking it would give me more renewals for the trial... install on my p5k-e (4gb ram) now at 6 hours. What should I do?

Variable W7pro install times on HP Compaq 6000 pcs

    Hi Guys,
Has anyone else seen these so far unaccountable long install times for W7pro.
I am rolling out 5 HP Compaq 6000 pcs, 3 installed in about 90mins while 1 required an overnight session (I left the install running) When I approached HP about the problem (on the last machine) they told me to interrupt the install and start again - long story but the machine was replaced. The new one has been installing now for about 6 or 7 hours.

The install method is using the HP recovery disk which (once booted) wipes the supplied Vista downgrade to XP install and then starts the W7 pro install. You spend a short time feeding disks into the machine then the install happens for real. There seams to be no reason why it can vary so much.

Anyone got any news ???? (I've used the same disk set through out apart from when attempting further installs during my sessions with HP - made no difference)
