Windows 7 wont boot after (clean) installation
Ok here's the problem:
After formatting and setting a new partition using the installation disk, I install Windows 7, all goes well. But as soon as the installation is finished and my laptop restarts, it wont boot from the HDD. I keep getting error messages saying:
Windows Boot Manager
Windows failed to start....
File: \boot\BCD
Status: 0xc000000e
- I have tried changing/and checked boot priorities in BIOS, setting my HDD as 1st prio, but this doenst help.
When I try using Startup Repair from Windows it does find an error that it wants to fix:
This bootoption will be repaired:
Name: {bootmgr}
Id: {9DEA862C-5CDD-4E70-ACC1-F32B344D4795}
These bootoptions will be added:
Name: Windows 7 Home Premium (recovered)
Path: Windows
Windows-device: partition=D: (610378 MB)
A copy of the current boot configuration data will be saved as c:\boot\bcd.backup.0001
However when i hit the "ok go ahead and fix it then!"-button i get another error saying Startup Repair cant save the new boot options.
Anyone know if i can fix this problem with BCDedit or bootrec.exe (if so, please instructions! )
