What to do after a clean install of Win 7

I just did a clean install of Win 7. I have the intel network driver so I'm online but that's it. I have no drivers or programmes at all. What to do next.

Yes I forgot to do a backup. It did create an oldwindows folder.

I have genuinely activated my Win HP

    I have a HP Dv7t 64-bit

Any info is much appreciated, thanks. Am keen to learn

Here are the steps to get a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. Everything you need to know is there. Too bad you didn't ask ahead so you could prepare properly.

Since you didn't back up your files you can copy them out of the windows.old folder into their respective User folders on the Explorer bar on the left side of the Explorer window.

Once you're sure you have everything you can delete windows.old.

Take an image, plain jane vanilla. Gives you a clean point to restore too in the future in the event that you have a problem or want to start clean again.

Thanks everyone. I just want to make sure my laptop is set up correct for best performance etc before I start putting my music n movie programmes, adobe CS5 n elements, iTunes etc etc.

I did a clean install so I could start a fresh with my new laptop with out all the other stuff thats always pre-installed but got myself caught without drivers etc. I have been to HP site now and installed some things off there. I have a few replies now so will go thru some of the options.

Anymore advice to optimize my laptop for best performance is welcome. I watch a lot of movies music and adobe editing software.

    Thanks
