No "Install on another partition" option while installing Windows 8

    Hi

I wanted to dual-boot Windows 7 with Windows 8. So, I downloaded a Windows 8 .iso file and I used the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool to "copy" the Windows 8 installation files onto the USB. After successfully copying the files, I started the installer and proceeded with the steps (insert product key, etc etc...) and after accepting the License terms, I wasn't given an option to install windows 8 on another partition (the installer asks me "What do you want to keep in Windows 8 Consumer Preview?" and gives me three choices... see picture).

Doesn't look like you actually booted the stick, but ran it from Win7.

Reboot the computer and tap the Acer F12 key given for one-time BIOS Boot Menu, select USB, Removable or HD to see if stick is listed under one of those, then select the stick to boot. Does it load in boot mode?

If not confirm the ISO and write to flash stick again, or try DVD.

I already tried that but "Install Now" was the only given option. NVM, maybe I'll just try downloading from their site. (I downloaded that from another site)

Be sure to get the ISO file, then write it to stick using Universal USB Installer
which should work with Win7 in the dropdown menu.

If not use this method to create stick: USB Windows 7 Installation Key Drive - Create - Windows 7 Forums

I think there wasn't anything wrong with the application that I used for "burning" the .iso file on the USB because it worked when I installed Windows 8 Developer Preview.

Now, as I said in my previous post I went to this site Download Windows 8 Consumer Preview and I clicked on the download button. It downloaded a downloader and started downloading the installer (took about 3 and a half hours to finish). After downloading, (see picture :) )

Oh, I never thought that there would be an option between a Clean installation and a Custom installation after choosing "Install now". That was so ignorant of me. Thanks!

It is not obvious, so unless you have seen it before, you wouldn't know.

    Enjoy.:)
