On my Dell optiplex 780, I was getting so many errors I decided to reinstall Win 7. I guess this was a big mistake since since now I get the message that the one version I was going to install was a version older than the one I was replacing(bad one). then it told me I could not do this. So I have no windows Can't load Front Page,or any of the programs I want and/or need. If you could see your was clear please tell me how to do this or is Win 8 the answer.

    thank you

What version came preinstalled with your Dell Optiplex 780? Windows 7 32 bit Basic? Home Premium? Pro? Ultimate?

Details of the disc that came with your machine? Is it a Recovery Disk? OEM Reinstall Disk?

If it is an OEM Reinstall Disk, what version is it? Basic? Home Premium? Pro? Ultimate?

And what is/was the current version on your machine that is giving errors?

Is your system still under warranty/extended warranty if any?

All these details are necessary for proper suggestions to get over your problem.
