Well, i can not yet try that because powerISO on linux doesn't see the dvd-rom. But i know for sure that it asks for a .bif (boot information file). I found some guy on other forums saying that he got it going with "GB1CULXFRE_EN_DVD.bif"but the source where he got it is no longer available.
So maybe there is here someone who has it and can pass it to me via email?

So that's pretty much what i can come up with for now (.
    Btw, it's a 32 bit.

Sorry Alexandru, but just downloading the iso from MS website and burning it to a DVD with whatever program, wouldn't that just do? I might have misunderstood, but all you want is to do a clean install, right? Just a simple install DVD should suffice

Don't think MS is still doing the download.

I'm sure someone can post the boot image he is after.

Not so sure it will work for him - you need the licensed version of PowerIso to create/edit images over 300mb.

You are right, I completely forgot about that "detail". Please disregard my post.

Alexandru, I have a few DVDs with the RC, I can mail one to you if you are interested. You just need a key. PM me if you are

Generous of you to offer to mail it - he might be thousands of miles away.

One could always try googling on Ixquick.

    Heya Alexandru,

Do you have a spare USB drive with a minimum 3Gb space?

Tks. Just paying forward. I have gotten (physical) stuff from forums members very far away. Least I can do!
I wont' FEDEX it overnight, though... :)

Guide? I was gonna give him the beta version of my tool WinBootUSB that some of the members here are already using SourceForge.net: WinBootUSB
