Doubts about windows 7 reinstalling!

Hello to all, this is my first post here.

Lately I have been struggling with a certain issue, a BSOD caused by the ntoskrnl.exe file, has been storming my PC. Oddly, it happens once a day, more or less 20 minutes after I start the computer, then it restarts and works alright for the rest of the day, then happens again in the following day.

I've searched many solutions and all of them failed, I am left with the drastic option of reinstalling windows 7. But the thing is, my computer didn't come with a retail CD. I must choose one to buy, so the first of my doubts is, Enterprise or Ultimate?

Also, the second of my doubts is if this reinstalling would eliminate this bsod issue? (In theory yes, but I must be sure before spending money).

And my final doubt is, how to effectively keep our files even with the reinstalling, I'd prefer that it was not a clean reinstalling, for obvious reasons :)

You wont need to buy a copy. Just download a copy of the version that is currently installed (and therefore licensed) from digital river.

Download Retail Windows 7 ISO from Official Website | Windows7hacker

Then if it turns out to be a hardware error you wont have wasted any money.

A complete reinstall will NOT automatically keep your files. You would need to use the Windows Easy Transfer utility in your current install to transfer off user files, then use it again on the new install to transfer them back (You need an external drive large enough to hold all your data).

As for the BSOD, it depends. One thing you will have to do after reinstall is install several additional/updated the drivers for your hardware. It may be one of those drivers that is causing the problem and reinstalling it may re-cause it.

You could try getting your BSOD analysed first, it may point out a more specific thing to try to fix first. See this link about how to post BSOD info on this site...

Follow these steps to get a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

A clean reinstall isn't drastic - it is better than getting a new computer since consumer PC"s today are larded with corrupting bloatware and useless factory utilities that have much better versions built into Win7. No tech enthusiast would run such an install.

Plus you only have to reinstall once, then after its setup save a Win7 backup image as shown in tutorial so you never have to reinstall again, just reimage from DVD or Repair Disk in 20 minutes if Win7 ever becomes irreparable.
