You may not however do what you seem to want which is to replicate your Win DVD to help your friends. It's against the T and C's of the agreement.
You may make a startup and repair disk.

    Amit,

Although one can duplicate a DVD rather easily. that's not the problem.

What I recommend, which is 100% legal and also a more flexible solution is to copy the DVD to a USB stick.

You do realize that the installation procedure is going to ask you for a 25 character Product Key.
Let us say you let your friend use your 25 character key.
When he gets ready to activate his Win 7, he will have problems since MS checks their database to see if the key has already been used.

That's the practical side of things. The illegality is another problem.
    Simply put:
    1 machine = 1 license
    1 license = 1 machine.

You paid, not for the DVD, but for that 25 character product key.

As for making a duplicate DVD, you can easily burn an ISO image of you DVD. From this ISO image you can create any number of Windows 7 DVDs one after the other.

But has your friend got a valid and genuine Product Key for Windows 7 64-bit Home Basic? If not then how does this help your friend because as karlnooks has very rightly stated 1 machine = 1 license and 1 license = 1 machine.

You may copy a Windows DVD for your own personal use.

You cannot copy it for someone else to use with a different product key.
