    Windows 7 installation problem

I was using windows xp professional 32 bit .it ran smoothly but yesterday I downloaded Windows 7 professional 32 bit and tried to install it. It installed properly. Copied files, expanded files and for the last step "completing installation" ,it restarted .after restarting ,setup did not continue. Black screen came showing this " press any key to boot from cd or DVD" .I waited for 1 hour but nothing came.setup didn't continue.

I had installed Windows 7 before ,and it worked. But now It's not working

    My CPU hardware
    Intel core 2 duo
    2.2 ghz
    1 gb RAM
    160gb sata HDD
    Asrock motherboard

    Please help me

Regardless of any other problems the amount of memory is not enough, you should have a minimum of 2Gb for Win 7.

Have you run the upgrade advisor before attempting to install ?

Just 512 mb RAM is required for Windows 7. I had installed it before

I recommend a minimum of 4 GB ram for Win 7, however, Microsoft will tell you that 1 GB is enough for the 32 bit system.

My experience 1 GB is technically enough, but practically 1 GB is not enough.

here is data from Windows 7 system requirements - Microsoft Windows

If you want to run Windows 7 on your PC, here's what it takes:

    • 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
    • 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
    • 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
    • DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

With the problems you have there, then I strongly recommend a clean install.

Clean install not working. When it installs and restarts , this screen comes " press any key to boot from cd or DVD" ,and this screen should go after some time ,but it won't go and setup doesn't continue. After 4 seconds, that screen gets stuck
