Need advice - Problem installing Windows 7 RTM

Need some advice on Windows 7 RTM install.
I've installed many RC with no problems but when I attempt to install Windows 7 RTM it keeps telling it cannot format the disk.

I'm running a Windows XP Pro computer with XP on disk1 and Windows 7 RC on disk2. I first disconnect disk1 and then boot from Windows 7 RTM setup disk (as I've always done for previous copies of RC).

When the setup program gets to Custom setup, I attempt to format disk2 and that's where it fails.

    Suggestions greatly appreciated.

Note: I obtained my copy of RTM 7100 directly from Microsoft web site.

Im confused. You want to keep XP, 7100, and 7600? or do you want to dual boot XP and 7600 and delete 7100?

    Is that right?

Sorry if I was not clear. Want to keep XP on disk1 and install RTM on disk2, erasing any previous RC versions on disk2.

I now suspect a hardware problem with disk2 since I can no longer format it.

    Thanks

When you remove HD #1 & boot with win7 DVD to format HD#2

Did you change jumper so that HD#2 is now a single master HD ?

Updated Need advice - Problem installing Windows 7 RTM

To all who replied to my original post - many thanks.

My problem has been solved - disk2 was operating as a "slave" instead of as a Master. When I moved the drive to the end of the ide cable it became a Master and I could install Windows 7 RTM with no problems.
